Trying to make the world/Scotland a better place looks ostensibly straightforward. Find the problem. Work out the solution. Apply.
Of course, life isn’t like that at all, so often we can barely work out what the problem is (sure, lots of people are in fuel poverty, but why are they?), let alone work out the right [...]

Levitation

One of the weirder things I’ve read today was about scientists’ attempts to make things levitate. Interesting, if you’re interested.
Read more here at Time magazine.
I love it when I hear of things that mean that science is one step closer to making the impossible possible. And such steps are a helpful reminder that any god-of-the-gaps [...]

Empty Promises?

Something I was thinking about last night triggered me to think about the empty promises Christians make – God’ll work it out, God will rescue you, God will heal you etc. Statements that bare no resembalance to reality for anyone with their eyes open.

Portsmouth Cathedral has been one of the venues for the city’s arts festival, and has hosted a parkour (free running) to music event. It is AMAZING. Think jumping over the font, running up the walls… Go watch the video at the Beeb here. Now.
Wouldn’t it be great if some  churches could get into this. I [...]

Homeless

Sometimes its hard to figure out how big economic changes actually effect us at a day to day level, and sometimes its painfully clear. Rising petrol prices is one, although that hasn’t really changed the way I live. Now though, the credit crunch has claimed its first victim among my friends.
It’s not really her fault. [...]

I am Mighty

Well, this is pretty cool. Makes me feel a bit better about myself that someone’s realised my true worth.
